Everything Bagel Cream Cheese Dip

Everything Bagel Cream Cheese Dip

Ingredients

  • 1tbs each of:
    • onion powder
    • onion flakes
    • garlic powder
    • dried oregano
    • sesame seeds
  • 250g tub cream cheese
  • 200g tub sour cream
  • 1tsp garlic salt

Method

Start by spooning out the spices into a pan then get it onto a low heat for a minute or until you can smell the onion. Keep your eye on the pan – a minute is all it will need. Turn off the heat then pour 3/4 of the spice mixture into your stand mixer or bowl (if you’re whisking by hand/electric beater). Add the cream cheese, sour cream and salt to the mixer and rapidly whisk for a minute or until fully combined and smooth. Sprinkle the remaining quarter of flavour bits on top for prettiness.

Heating the flavours does two things: 1) releases their flavour even more and 2) warms up the cream cheese to be a little more receptive to melting and accepting the flavour even more so when cooled. For this reason pop the cream cheese mixture into a tupperware container and leave in the fridge to cool. The longer you can leave it the better it will taste so even 1-2 days is perfect!

Hey there

This is a collection of tastes from my tables abroad… wherever that may be. I spend my days professionally food writing my nights recipe developing flavours from my adventures.

I am at my happiest when sharing food with my favourite people. I care deeply about nourishing our bodies with goodness. I don’t believe in dieting, I don’t believe in fads, I believe in feeding your body simply with home made deliciousness.
