I’ve turned an afternoon of hangry cravings into a blog worthy recipe compiling of four ingredients. Apparently my creative productivity is dependant entirely on one thing. Snacks. Sticky umami snacks. I can no longer remember why I would need to eat anything else…
Maple Syrup & Soy Sauce Roasted Almonds
Makes 1-2 cups
Ingredients
1 cup almonds
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1tbs maple syrup
1tbs soy sauce
Method
Pre heat your oven to 160 and line a baking tray.
Combine the almonds and pumpkin seeds in a bowl. In a cup, mix together the maple syrup and soy sauce then pour over the almond mix.
Roast in the oven for 10 minutes or so then check how they’re looking. As each oven will differ – you want the maple to have thickened and caramelised and for the almonds to golden. They will harden outside the oven so don’t worry if it all looks to wet to be ready. Enjoy!
Kitchen notes...
Feel free to use any nuts & seeds. For a more substantial trail mixture, once the nuts have cooled, add dried fruit, coconut, choc chips etc.
