Fail Proof DIY Tzatziki

Fail Proof DIY Tzatziki

My guilty pleasures include:

  • my Big Fat Greek Wedding/Hunger Games/Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants
  • being inadvertently aggressive to get a seat on the train and the thrill and guilt you feel once you beat everyone else for it
  • singing Never Ever by All Saints and nailing the rap part
  • sorting by price on booking.com – highest to low – just so you can see where you can never afford to stay
  • walking away from skincare places with a million samples because you smashed looking like a potential buyer
  • sighing really loudly in public when people walk too slowly and are bad at lining up
  • and obviously… choosing your choice and eating dip for dinner.

Fail Proof DIY Tzatziki

Makes around 2 cups

Fail Proof DIY Tzatziki

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 cloves of garlic, skin on
  • 2tbs white wine vinegar
  • 2tbs chopped dill
  • 1tsp salt
  • 400g natural yoghurt

Method

Peel, deseed and grate the cucumber then leave in a sieve to drain out the moister.

Pre heat the oven to 180 and roast the garlic with the skin on for 10 minutes. Once cool enough to touch, peel the garlic and using a knife mush the cloves to a paste.

In a bowl mix the vinegar, dill, salt, yoghurt and pureed garlic together. Squeeze the excess liquid from the cucumber and mix through the yoghurt. Done and done.

Haha I love getting the free skincare samples, and pretending I’ve never tasted the new Bakers Delight scroll they have on sample! Also sigh very loudly and huff annoyingly when people are taking up the walkway!! haha this just reminds me of our power-walking in Sydney and the guys just thinking we were crazy-walkers, but me just loving the fact I’d found my fast-pacing-walker-soul-mate haha xx

Hey there

This is a collection of tastes from my tables abroad… wherever that may be. I spend my days professionally food writing my nights recipe developing flavours from my adventures.

I am at my happiest when sharing food with my favourite people. I care deeply about nourishing our bodies with goodness. I don’t believe in dieting, I don’t believe in fads, I believe in feeding your body simply with home made deliciousness.

Things we know about ordering takeaway Chinese foo Things we know about ordering takeaway Chinese food:

1) You will inevitably receive an oversupply of wooden chopsticks. Obviously this is because you over-ordered and you only have yourself to blame for the restaurants assumption.

2) The food will be mildly OK. Just good enough for you to finish you container but not good enough to alleviate the feeling of takeaways remorse.

3) No lessons will be learnt and you will repeat this two weeks later. I call this Regrettable Chinese Takeaway.

So all in all, it’s probably just easier to grab some steak and a broccoli and sort this one yourself (or until next week when you Regrettable Chinese Takeaway all over again).
